Slabu Exchange-Raven-Symoné reveals her brother died of colon cancer: 'I love you, Blaize'

Raven-Symoné revealed Monday that her younger brother has died,Slabu Exchange two years after his colon cancer diagnosis.

The Disney Channel star began a post on Instagram thanking her followers for their birthday wishes on Sunday, sharing that it was "bittersweet" because her brother, Blaize Pearman, died before she celebrated her 38th year around the sun.

"It was a little bittersweet for me to be honest because last month I lost my brother, Blaize," Raven-Symoné told her followers. "He was battling colon cancer for about two years and he is in a better place now."

She added: "He's loved and missed and the emotions that have been weaving in and out of my body and mind and my family, have been a roller coaster."

Her brother would have celebrated his birthday on Dec. 16.

"I love you, Blaize," the "Raven's Home" star continued. "His birthday is Dec. 16 and forever will be. I love you, guys. My family on Instagram, my family at home and my family and friends. You guys have been such an amazing support system and I love you all."

Raven-Symoné's former Cheetah Girls bandmates shared their support in the comments section.

"I am so sorry to hear this news Raven! You were always such an awesome big sister who loved and adored her baby brother!" Sabrina Bryan wrote. "Sending healing prayers to you and your family during this difficult time."

Kiely Williams commented: "I am so sorry. There are no words that can ease this kind of pain, but I hope you can find moments of peace and comfort in the weeks and months ahead. You and your family are in my prayers."

"High School Musical" alum Monique Coleman also sent her best wishes. "Oh nooo. So sorry to hear this! Sending you so much love," she wrote.
